After owning a 16 ft and four 17 ft models I began searching for a 19 ft model, after several years when one came up for sale in Chambly Quebec that looked like a good candidate after speaking with the owner. That Saturday morning I headed out for the 5 hour drive to view the boat which did not have a motor , trailer or interior. The boat was exactly as described by the seller and a great candidate for restoration. Over the next 2 years I replaced the transom as it had a few soft spots, purchased and rebuild some factory seats which were then reupholstered by the company which originally did the upholstery, fibreglassed in the new seat mounts to the floor which was in good condition and installed new carpeting. All new gauges were purchased with the addition of a water pressure , hour meter, trim tilt gauge and a power port. The steering was upgraded to a dual cable system with a tilt wheel. The fuel tank was cleaned and a new pickup, sending unit and water separator installed as well as all new hoses for the filler, vent and supply lines. The old cleats were replaced with Neat Cleats and the original gelcote was buffed and polished to a like new finish. A hydraulic jack plate was added to assist the boat in planing faster when skiing. I purchased a rebuilt 1994 Evinrude 200HP Vindicator which runs several 4 blade props depending on the application of skiing or cruising 19, 22,25 or 27 pitch. An original J craft trailer was also purchased and restored to compliment the boat.
