From the Owner

These boats were  built by three generations  of the Elmhirst family ,owners of Elmhirst Resort on Rice Lake Since 1903 .This boat was built in 1982 from a Peterborough fisherman mould they got from Peterborough canoe company This was as a rental boat for many years and is one of approximately 7 boats left . A true survivor in very good shape for the commercial use it had . Steve Elmhirst took it to Murray Parnell for restoration in the spring of 2021 and now back on the docks at the resort. They hope to charter this boat for their guests to get the experience the ride of a cedar strip boat After 118 years renting cottages and fishing boats the Cedar strip boat will still be used on beautiful Rice Lake
