Zorina is built in African (Grand Bassam) mahogany 1966 at Söderkvist shipyard in Oxelösund
as 1 of 5 identical (it was originally built only 5 pcs 30-footer without stern ruff, 15 pcs in total). She is 9.15m long, 2.85m wide and weighs 3.6 tons.
She was commissioned by accountant Eric Lundin in Uppsala Motorbåtssällskap.
According to Ingrid Lundin, now Eric’s widow, she was christened “Zorina” after
that they saw the operetta of the same name staged by Jules Sylvain at the Royal Opera (note: 1943)
Ingrid also says that they changed the interior before delivery, so that it became a full bench in
the stern (aft sofa), and that they pulled in the gas heater (Pulsomatic) with waterborne
heating elements under all the couches. They used “Zorina” diligently, with trips to Åland and down
along the entire coast of Sweden, such as Borgholm, during the 11 years they had her in their possession.
Eric Lundin was a teacher of navigation courses and a really keen boatman,
Eric was one of the first to order his Söderkvistare with a wider stern.
Zorina had an AQ110 with 200 aquamatic drive mounted from the shipyard (B18 at 110Hp), The last week in May 1976 the original engine was replaced with a VP
AQ140 with 280 drive, and the following year Eric moved down Zorina to Ulvsundasjön and the boat company,
and later sold Lundin’s Zorina in the year 1977 to a club mate in Ulvsunda Båtklubb:
Hans Lindblom. Hans took care of her for 18 years, between 1977-1995
Hasse Börjesson bought the boat from Hans Lindblom in June 1995, and took over the ownership for 13 years, between
the years 1995-2008. He replaced the engine in 2001 with a brand new 215HP VP V6 4.3GS / SX drive (manufactured 97) Zorina marches 15-16 knots with this engine (3000 rpm)
We are thus only her 4th owner now since 1966.
