The “APPY” was purchased by Alfred and Marguerite Davis in 1965. The boat is still in the original family and now owned by Bill and Linda Davis.
The boat has been preserved over the years and has twice won First Place ( in 2011 and 2018 ) in the Preserved Classic category at the Gravenhurst International Boat Show.
As baby Alfred Davis could not say Alfred but said he was “Appy” the baby so hence the boat name when Alfred bought it new in 1965 and as his baby named it “APPY”.
Marguerite Davis is shown in one of the pictures having a ride when she was 97.
Another picture shows Marguerite Davis (at 95) with her long time friend Florence (Mortimer) Watters who was the daughter of Eddie Mortimer ( founder of Mortimer’s point Marina and sister to Alf Mortimer who founded Port Sandfield Marina).
Another picture shows Bill and Linda and 3 of their grandchildren-Taylor, Carson and Jiles.
