This boat was originally owned by the Moffat family. The family business on Weston Rd. in Toronto produced the Moffat Stove. It was next door to CCM, another Canadian heritage manufacturer.
The name, Mary Beth is the combination of the names of owner Charles Moffat’s two daughters, Mary and Elizabeth. Originally on Lake of Bays, the boat came to Go Home Bay on Georgian Bay and then ten years ago to the current owner on Tabasakwa Island in the Cognashene area of Georgian Bay. Restoration, occurring only during the summer months, took approximately ten years to complete.
