Wow! Magnificent!

Sevlo was originally custom built for Lady Eaton (of the Eaton department stores) for her cottage on Georgian Bay. She later sold it to a cousin on Gloucester Pool. My father, purchased the boat in the early 1940’s and had the original top replaced with the larger top currently shown in the pictures. He paid $600 for her! Very handsome, don’ you think?

The boat was originally used by Severn Lodge to ferry guests arriving and departing to the Lodge. My dad was very proud of Sevlo (short for Severn Lodge) and my brother Ron and I are too!

Since the road was built into the Lodge it has been used to take our guests for nostalgic cruises on Gloucester Pool.

By chance I met and talked to Lady Eatons’ captain in Midland in the early 1980’s. We exchanged stories about our favorite boat for about an hour.

Next year in 2022 Sevlo will be 100 years oldand she has many more years yet to go!
